What Are the Backboard Options?
When designing your LED neon sign, you can choose from several backboard and mounting styles depending on the look, installation method, and overall aesthetic you want to achieve. Each option offers a different visual effect and level of presence.
Cut to Shape
This option uses an acrylic backboard that is custom-cut to follow the outer contour of your entire design.
- Clean and modern appearance
- Keeps focus on the full sign shape
- Very popular for logos and graphic designs
Cut to Letter
With this option, each letter or element is individually mounted.
- Minimal and premium look
- Creates a floating neon effect on the wall
- No visible backing behind the letters
Acrylic Board
A classic acrylic backboard that supports the full design.
- Durable and easy to install
- Ideal for wall mounting or hanging
- Available in multiple finishes (see color options below)
Stand (Free-Standing)
Choose a standing option if you don’t want to mount your sign to a wall.
- Comes with a stable base
- Ideal for desks, shelves, counters, and events
- Selected directly in the design tool
Open Box
The open box option features a structured backing that adds depth and presence.
- Strong visual impact
- Often used for commercial or statement signage
- Suitable for indoor installations
Construction Boards
For a bold and industrial look, we also offer construction-style backings, including:
- Wooden planks
- Rebar structures
- Metal gratings
- Rust-effect materials
These options are ideal for interiors with an industrial, raw, or artistic style.
Acrylic Board Color Options
If you choose an acrylic backboard, you can also select from different finishes:
- Mirror acrylic
- Shiny black acrylic
- Shiny white acrylic
These finishes allow you to either blend the sign into the space or make it stand out as a design feature.
